Mount point for SAE connector

2022 F350 Lariat

I want to mount a 12V SAE socket somewhere external to connect a battery maintainer to. The socket is small, if you haven't seen one its the kind you can plug a solar panel into. I can put it under the wheel well but then its going to get hit with anything that flies off the tire.

I'd like to put it somewhere on the bumper or behind the license plate holder without putting a hole in the bumper. Does anyone have any suggestions for a good mount point or know of a no-drill bracket I could buy to attach to the bumper and then attach the socket to?

You can use clamps like this to mount the wire anywhere.

depending on the wire thickness…a1/4” clamp would probally be a snug fit.

simple install…determine a path from your battery to where ever you want the connector to land…..look for screws or bolts along that path and install the clamps with the wire in it.

should be simple.

i have an sae connector and wire installed in my truck mainly for an occasional dash solar panel….i can tell you that manufactures of sae gagets are not always on the same page and sometimes red is not red and black is not black. Some volt meter testing might be needed .

I don't see an image - I'm new to these boards so maybe I'm missing something.

I like that spot. What did you do for the mounting connectors? Machine screws? Any lock-tite or similar?

Yes, stainless machine screws and nylocks. The plastic panel comes out making it a lot easier to install.
