For those that HAVE swapped these onto their '99-'03s how and where did you mount your 7 way trailer plug?

I bought the newer style dual plug with the 7way and 4flat but can't mount it with the provided factory bracket because IT mounts to the '08 -'16 HITCH itself...

I think someone mounted theirs in the lh plastic panel of the bumper.....

 

Can't speak to the 99-03s but on my 05 it is mounted to the hitch. I had to bend down the mounting tab otherwise there was not enough room under the bumper and it would not open far enough to get the plug in. I would consider mounting it in the bumper itself. I've found that the plastic area around the license plate tends to hold a bunch of dirt and snow, depending on the season.
