My Dentside Projects
Gave me enough confidence to hit the road out to Utah to go meet @Rubiranch and buy his old pickup.
Telehandler came in very handy from the shop my old man is having put in on his property up in Utah.
May or may not have been a tad overloaded.
Curb Weight: 3880
Total load: 2300
GVWR: 4700
Oversticker: 1480
Plus 300lb fat *** lol
Took a nice drive down the 89
Stopped by Fab Rats shop and checked out their rigs and met Paul ***!
Drove down through Zion National Park
Stopped by Matts offroad recovery as well and had a tour of their yard and all of their rigs.
Next to Matts shop there was a 73-76 F250 in medium ginger metallic just like my F100. Mightve been better suited for all this weight I had in the little old F100..
Unloaded the 410 and NP435 out of my F100 today.
Inside is a little rough from id guess when the fire was put out on Kennys pickup anyhow need to work on cleaning it up. Looks like everything is good but cylinder 8 may need machining time will tell though.
Really comes down to how bad the pitting is if any but its the worst looking.
Used some scotch brite pad on the cylinder wall and it seems like it cleaned up well enough to try a hone on it.
Went to go clean up the oil pan for storage and thought a piece of glass from the windshield found it way in there.
Picked it up and took me a minute but I realized that it was in fact a piston skirt so decided to pull all the pistons and rods out to see what was going on.
It was cylinder #2 that the skirt had came off of.
Crank looks to be in good condition probably going to send it to the machine shop and have it all checked out balanced and polished.
Cyl #1
Cyl #2
Cyl #3
Cyl #4
Cyl #5
Cyl #6
Cyl #7
Cyl #8
Found out when I pulled all of the pistons that Cyl 2, 3, and 4 top compression rings were broken.
Darn rodent decided to get stuck inside the shop or something and chewed through my garage door..
