I'm considering the passenger side swing away storage box for my jumper cables, bungee cords, tie downs, tools, gloves and odds and ends. They range in price from $99 to $300, Are they all made in the same factory? Some are for 15-22 or 17-26. Are they all the same or will model year matter?
My 26 has the good for nothing box plates and I want the boxlink style cleats. Are the $35 ebay cleats adequate? I seem to remember buying a set for my F150 but I'm not sure if I did or was thinking about it.
I once had the Ford branded swing away boxes. My advice is to keep the contents light. I had some chains in them that were a bit much for them to handle. I also thought the latches were pretty sub par on them.

I'm not 100% sold on them, but they seem handy for stuff you don't want in the cab and don't want to crawl to the front of the bed to get.
I used points to “purchase” the swing away tool box in my 2022. It was very handy to keep tow strap, ratchet straps and booster cables. I would do it again but going w a hay bed on the ‘26 delivered last week. Not positive, but I assume the mounting brackets are different between the 17-22 and 23 up series. I left the toolbox and box link tie downs in the old vehicle or I would check compatibility.
I have one of the SwingCase brand boxes I got off Amazon, Originally had it in my 2017 Raptor. Had to modify it a bit to fit the F250 cause bed lengths are different. keep all the random stuff, gloves, bug spray, tow strap, cleats, etc in it. Had it 5 years now and still works great. It's been under bed covers it's whole life out of the elements. Not sure I would use it without a bed cover though.
I also swapped back to the Boxlink cleats cause I had other Boxlink accessories I wanted to use. Funny enough the dealer threw in some Boxlink handles even though the truck had the new H cleats. I got these off Amazon and tossed the newer plates - https://a.co/d/0dP7hzAF
