Story goes that this cover was put on a new 25 F250 by the dealer for a customer. The customer backed out so the truck was sold to someone else. I bought the cover from the someone else for $600. It was on the truck for about two months.
I'm feeling that the cover was for a pre-23. It seems about an inch short and I had to shim it up 1/2" to keep it off the paint and get keep the latch from hitting the tailgate.
I'm a perfectionist and doing something this way drives me nuts, but a $2200 cover for $600 was too good to pass on.
I have a local guy that will color match for $300. I got one $740 quote for a wrap. That seems a bit steep considering it's a pretty easy job.
Hmmm ... doesn't matter how good your "deal was", if it didn't fit, it would drive me nuts. Maybe you didn't get all of the pieces for the install. Looks like it will leak. Good luck with your project.
I don't believe the beds have changed on the Super Duty's, at least since 17 when they went to Alumi-Duty body's. So if it fit the previous truck, it should fit yours. If not, it may just be the wrong cover, installed wrong, or it could just be the way it is designed to fit. it looks like a one piece cover so I would imagine that there should be a gap between the cover and the cab of the truck so that it can open without hitting the cab.

Maybe not in your eyes, but I have a locking hard cover for $600.

Even if it was for a pre-'23 truck it should have fit, I think. My FIL carried his cover over from his '22 with zero issues. It's a trifold soft cover though so there might be a bit more flexibility there than with hard covers.
That said, it looks like this one is short, and even with the deal being what it was, if I'd set it up there and it didn't fit right I'd have considered walking.
Did you see it on the other truck? Contact the previous owner to see if he has a picture of it on the truck or pick his brain to see if it had the same gap. Or look at a brochure from the cap company to see pictures of it on trucks.
