Looking at a 2023 Lariat CCLB on Build & Price, I see some of the Job 2 options are now listed. One of these options is, “Pickup Box Bed Side Storage”, $1,695. Anyone know what this is?
Those swing out style boxes typically sell for $150 to $220 each. I found this photo of a storage box for a Ford Maverick online but couldn’t find a price or maker.
I thought I saw a promotion video of new stuff from the manufacturer of boxes for the bed. Do not remember which manufacture or model but was able to be used as a ice box or tools and stuff. Thought it was Ford.
Thanks 350Recon, that makes sense. When I saw the option listed on Build & Price my first though was something like the Ram Box. More likely it will be something like what you posted. Sure would be nice if there was a photo or at least a description.
Has anyone gotten a 23 with this option or found actual information on what it entails? My dealer could not come up with anything.
I have an order in for a 2024, but did not add this $1695 option with zero description. If it is anything like the Rambox or the bed side storage that was on the Chevy Avalanche I would be very interested if compatible with 5th wheel towing.
This was on the Ford accessories website. Maybe it is this, but I didn’t see the price.
Had one. My advice to anyone who gets one is to use it for light duty storage only. Maybe some gloves and nylon straps. The latches are junk and they aren't made to support a lot of weight on the pivot point.
A 20 foot chain and a few other odds and ends proved too much for mine. I removed it and gave it away.
Those look terrible. Why would they put the boxes over the wheelwell? It restricts storage space in the boxes as well as the ability to carry 4' items in the bed. I guess one "benefit" is they retain the ability to run a cross bed tool box, but I imagine most folks would have one or the other, not both.
The Maverick box design from earlier in the thread makes way more sense to me.
