I had the B&W Tow and Stow. Liked the hitch however the tongue weight rating was only 1K pounds. My dumper trailer loaded was more. So I went with a Gen-y adjustable hitch. Went one high just in case I need to use my winch to pull something on to the trailer. It’s heavy but works great. Rated for 3K tongue weight and 21K trailer. Way more than my truck is rated or will pull.

That's not what caused him to jackknife. It's got nothing to do with the length of the shank extension, and everything to do with the length of the trailer and the skill of the driver. Short trailers are MUCH more responsive to steering inputs than longer trailers, to the point that it is VERY easy to jackknife a short trailer while a long trailer takes considerably more effort. rPods are notoriously short, and therefore more susceptible to potential jackknife situations than a longer trailer.
