Will FORscan work on 2019 Subie? I know several members own Subies. I have FORScan for my 02 F250 and was curious. Many later model vehicles have electronic emergency brakes and replacing the brake pads/rotors now requires the use of a
bi-directional scan tool or the dealership or a shop to do the work. The vehicle must be put in the Service Mode (using a scan tool) before starting.
I apologize for this post is not in order but trust you guy’s opinions more than elsewhere.

I have a 2008 3.6L Tribeca that does not require a bidirectional scan tool to service and have used the OBDLink software to check the system and/or reset codes. I have also successfully used the software on a 2003 VW.
I don't know if it is bbidirectional or not, but i don't think it is.
I will likely be investing in an Autel in the near future as we own cars newer than the early 2000's.
The price consumers pay for owning a car with "features" that are not needed nor asked-for just to justify the manufacturer's cost of owning a smartphone on wheels.

Thanks guys, I suspected your conclusions. Keep up the great work here on this forum.
God bless!
Hey sir, if you end up getting a "newer and more advanced" bidirectional reader, let us know what path you took. After responding here yesterday, I went to the Autel website and saw there were so many more choices than what I remember seeing a few years ago. I know that I will need one of these one day, but we have been fortunate enough to get by with basic readers and code resets.
Good luck to you sir and we hope you get things sorted out.
Which dongle are you using? Like Sous, I have the OBDLink. I find their app is very good and would expect it to be capable. I’ve used it many times on our other vehicles but only once with FORScan on a Ford truck.
OBDLink‘s “free” app has deep capabilities is why I typically recommend it over the cheaper models. My daughter has a BAFX tool which required finding a 3rd party app and is very limited in comparison.
