26 F450, Catastrophic Engine Failure at 400 miles
Someone pulled in front of us with 2500 miles on the 2020 KR F250. Totaled the other car, struck the door post of the car with the front tow hook… bent the frame. Frame was replaced. Those guys truly hand-built the truck and caught a few factory defects in the process. With the right technicians, you should charge extra at resale.

Installing our front bumper I did notice that one of the bolts had loctite on it but was only threaded in about 2 turns. pretty crazy what passes here.
I come from Porsches and Land Rovers as my primary cars so all this is new to me. Land Rovers have their reputation, but the reality is it's a night and day better assembled vehicle. Of course the Porsches are even a few steps up from there. I don't want to crap on Ford. Nobody makes a better truck at the class of the F450. I guess I just wish Porsche made heavy duty trucks.
Nope. In 2021 I rented a 2022 F250 XLT from Enterprise Truck Rentals with a whopping 52 miles on it. 10 days later I dropped it off with a little over 4300 miles on it, all of which was towing our camper from MS to WY and back.
It won’t be the same, for-sure. It’ll be better than new. Solid rebuild with a very nice extended factory warranty? What more could you want? I’d let them fix it and drive the hell out of it. It should be a great truck. Engines fail; it’s not common, but it happens. Sounds like you @SushiSean have a great relationship and connection to the dealer. They’ll make it right.
The dealer is trying hard. Just hope the new motor shows up this week and they get this put back together asap. It's encouraging to hear everyone think the car will be better than new when done.
So far so good on the relationship. It started Monday. I don't have any family at Ford anymore they're all since retired.

Quick update:
Ford dealer says parts are arriving in waves through Friday and that they expect the truck to be back to us by Wednesday. That would be a 15 day turnaround for an engine replacement, which would be impressive.
Ford Corporate has been in touch to apologize and ask how to make it right. Will update when we get delivery

No you don't, the pricing for their Porsche 450 would be 200k plus 100k adm, lol.
They are one of the best in build qualities though, but have also been slacking, like others, since 21'. My 992 GT3 is a little squeakier on the interior than my previous 991.1 and 991.2 GT3's.

Funny you should mention, aside from the fact that what consumer automotive firms call "heavy duty" is really light duty in the grand scheme of things, Volkswagen group kind of sells a medium duty trucks here in their ownership of International that does market its own F450-F650 chassis cab competitors in the Silverado Medium Duty line. Those things are nothing like the IFS commuter and mall friendly Chevy/GMC 2500 and 3500 pickups, they even still use the 6 speed Allison. If money is not a concern, an S-corp owned 4500HD wouldn't be a bad rig to have around.
