6.2 DTC CODES
6.2 DTC CODES
Hi everyone it’s been a while since I posted. I recently purchased a 2015 f250 6.2 automatic with 230k miles. It has a service body and mostly will be for around town. The truck runs really well, but I have a couple of codes popping up and I was wondering if anyone can tell me if they are related and maybe which ones to tackle first or maybe some pointers on how to troubleshoot. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
PO6B6
PO420
PO113
PO113
things done since buying it
replace drivers side exhaust manifold
purge valve cleaned out throttle body
with crc intake and valve cleaner
two bottles of Berryman fuel treatment on a little less than a 1/4 tank and driven about 40 miles on the interstate at 75-80 The truck is running a lot better but I want to fix the rest.

I'm not a mechanic, but based on my experience with my 2019 6.2, which I purchased used with 109K on the ODO, you may be having misfires which are causing the P0420 code.
You may have misfires happening from an arching coil, plugs, bad wires, etc. A quick Google search on P06B6 indicates that it may be caused by an arching coil, plug wire, etc. Those types of issues may send unburned fuel to the Cats, and over time cause them to fail.
I replaced all plugs, new plug wires & new coil boots. I also replaced 2 coils that were physically damaged (my fault). I hoped that this would stop the p0420 codes, but it did not, the Cats were too far gone.
I had both cats replaced by a local independent shop with new aftermarket units. Truck has been running great since, no misfires and no P0420 codes.
Regarding the P0113, I have no experience so nothing to offer on a fix.
