I was doing a carb rebuild on my 1984 F150 351w can dont knows what this part is. it is beyond repair. im new to the sit and also new to old ford need a little help
I dont know what it is called but I am guessing that is a electronic carb like a feed back system used on the 300 six trucks.
Do you have a rebuild build kit for it maybe it will say what it is?
Or better yet give Mike's carb a call as he will also have any part needed for the rebuild. https://www.carburetor-parts.com/

It does look like the electronic version, this truck might have California emissions on it. You can see that large round can looking thing on the throttle stop of the side on the carb. That is a little dc motor that controls the idle speed.
The piece in question; Does it click when you put 12v to the terminals? All it does is let more or less air into the carb to vary the air to fuel mixture. The computer turns it on and off rapidly, almost like a fuel injector in the later engines.
