There are actually two versions of that carburetor (Holley 847). The units for 1941 to 1947 G series six cylinder Fords did not have a vacuum port for the later type distributor. The units for 1948 to 1951 H series six cylinder Fords do have a vacuum port for the later type distributor.
Your carburetor looks rebuild-able from your pictures. If the various parts are not stuck (or can be freed up without damage) then consider getting a carb kit and a small vat (1 gallon) of carburetor cleaner and giving it a go.
