What Are Your OTHER Interests?

Other than Ford trucks? I "tinker" with old IH tractors (and, of course, Ford tractors....). This past weekend, a friend from Nebraska came over and we got my 1927 McCormick -Deering 10-20 running. I'm the guy with the grey beard at the tail end of the video....

I like to "hot rod" things...

Before. Found it under a massive pile of leaves. It had been buried for years but hosed off relatively well. Hm.... I can rebuild that! :

Six months later working on it as "mental floss" when I wanted to get away from Ford trucks... :

And dabble in metal art:

Both your tractor hobbies look great!

I too like the old tractors.....in particular old Sears garden tractors from the 60's and 70's. I have 4 now....2 1967 Suburban SS12s, a very rare 1967 Sears Hydro-Trac 12, and a 1972 Suburban SS12 that my son and I put an engine on just last week. Trying to get the carb rebuilt and working now. Got quite a few attachments for them also.

And we are also restoring this 1969 Glastron V156 tri-hull....rotten floor and stringers. Never done fiberglass work at all so there is a lot to learn!

1968 GTO

1988 Porsche 944

simplicity 2110 from 1968

Must be a tractor thread!
I'm into Simplicity/Allis Chalmers lawn and garden tractors. I have about 10 at the moment. Also collect repair, and trade old washers. dryers, and refrigerators. Also, we have a 68 GTO and a Porsche to play with.

Not all of us are into tractors. Both of my sons are Eagle Scouts, I was leader of their Troop for quite a while, so that was a significant interest for that period of my life.

I'm also into bird dogs. I've had two Gordon Setters and a Brittany (both pointing breeds) that I've trained and hunted over. My only bird dog right now is my second Gordon, and his vet says he doesn't have much more time (heart failure), so I'm starting to look into a new pup.

My family has gone fourwheeling on vacations just about forever. We started with a Jeep CJ5, but upgraded to a '71 Bronco a while back (link to my build thread is in my sig).

Now both of my kids are off at college, so my wife and I are empty nesters. So a new interest is figuring out what that means. We went on a cruise for our 25th anniversary this past winter and enjoyed that a lot more than we thought we would (we'll do more). Also thinking about getting a motorhome for nicer accommodations on fourwheeling vacations. And I hope to have more time for my truck hobby as well!

1980Supercab - Sent you a PM about boat restoration. Also, I currently have a late 70's Glastron trihull with a bad floor, so I understand your plight. But it is being sold to help pay for the new-to-us 23' Sea Ray.

As for my "other interests", I'll spell them out:
  • Church: I'm very involved in activities there
  • Grandkids: We have three (two currently almost 4 and one almost 1), and it is so much fun watching them grow up
  • Travel: At my antiquated age I'm realizing that I'd better see what I'm gonna see - soon. So my wife and I are headed to FL soon to spend a week with the grandkids, and then to Europe in the autumn.
  • Old vehicles: See my sig

My other interests? besides mechanical stuff? just doing yard work. I currently repair lawn equipment for people for side money for the truck and something to do. And I do yard work for people as well. That's about all I ever do or have an interest in.

I build and sell "mountain craft" (primitive) hat racks, coat racks, mirrors, shelves, and furniture made from barn wood, fence planks, aspen/pine/cedar/oak. The display cabinet pictured was 5' tall, glass front, LED lighting inside, built for a local store (note the hasp).

I'm a gun buff (a user, not a collector). I'm an amateur photographer, love exploring the mountains, love Jeeping - and usually combine those. I was an avid reader my entire life, and gave it up in 2004 when I realized all I needed to read was the Bible. We do a lot of charity and volunteer work. I love the Lord, and love spending time with my best friend, my wife.

Wow! Love the pics! But, I like the statements about the Bible and your best friend better.
