just got done installing a reman e4od auto trans in my 97 f250hd i went thru the procedure of filling with fluid run 15 seconds add 2 qts run 15 seconds add 2 qts then move shifter thru gears put in park check fluid and it is way overfilled ran thru gears again and wheels are not moving torque convertor evidently not locking up dont sound like any solenoids are operating how do i test to see if trucks solenoid wiring harness is working i am assuming that the trans and convertor are good anyone have a wiring and plug diagram?
I have a 95 F250 5.8/E4OD/2WD. It holds well over 15qts. I do have an aftermarket aluminum pan, but it is a 2WD pan.
If the transmission can't pump what little fluid you put in is, the pump is probably not working. That can happen if the converter was not installed properly.
There is NOTHING electrical that can keep it from engaging in gear. Nothing the solenoids do or do not do can make this happen. I think you don't have enough fluid to make it work.
i had 13 qts in it and it didn't move on dipstick apparently the pump is not working. i loosened the convertor nuts and the convertor moves so i am pretty sure i got it on all the way. sounds like i have to take it back out to see what problem is
i was pretty sure i got it on right i loosened the converter bolts and the converter moves. i seen a post that said to check that. don't know if that means anything but i figure i have to remove the tranny and check it to be 100% i ran it awhile to add fluid hope i didn't hurt it
