My truck is throwing a temper tantrum again...
I applied for a bill consolidation loan and had an appointment yesterday to take them the documents they needed. Since I am using the truck as collateral, they wanted to see the odometer reading. No problem, right? Truck had other ideas. Just as I pull into the shopping center, I hear a long beep, and every warning light on the dash comes on. Same as before, the tach, speedo, and odo stop working. Great. So, naturally they can't get the reading. The truck runs fine but without the reading they cut my loan offer in half. I said no. I will go out today or tomorrow and disconnect the battery for a few minutes and see if that fixes it. This happened way back when I first got to drive it, but has not happened since, until just under two weeks ago. Now it has happened twice in ten days. I was going to use part of the loan to replace the cat so it will pass smog next March, but now it looks like I will have to add this problem. Going to be hard to diagnose something so random...
Catalytic converters for that truck is expensive. Mine were stolen. The replacement cost was astronomical. I was lucky that I had insurance. Otherwise, I would not have been able to pay for it. Not that I am suggesting that you find a shop who will cut it off, then help you file a claim for a new set.
As a condition of the loan offer I had to upgrade my insurance coverage to full. So, maybe I will get lucky and someone will steal my cats. Unfortunately, I have a $1,000 deductible. So, it would be expensive for me either way. Since the truck still runs fine even with all the warning lights on I am thinking it might be a bad ECU. I have no idea how expensive that is, but I want to be 100% sure that is the problem before buying one.
Didn't buy anything. No new goodies. I did buy food, but I do that every week, so nothing special to report there.
A church friend gave me a whole chicken so I will see if my new caregiver knows how to cook it tomorrow. My old caregiver decided to go to a different company because they pay more. Will miss her but I get it.
If I get off my lazy bum tomorrow, I will go out and see if I can fix my truck.
No new requests to join the group.

I'm stuck in a time warp. I still wear the same basics from when I was a child. I took the opportunity to buy turtleneck shirts. Basic and boring. I can wear it with my jeans. Or with my 1970's leisure suit.
