At Wal*Mart, hams are $1.98 lb. Get the smallest one that you can find. 7 to 10 lbs. You will have food all week. You can make sandwiches, ham and eggs, wrap a few pieces in foil & put it in the toaster oven for baked ham, dice it up for omelettes, cut it thick for ham steaks........ you can't beat it for $2 a pound.
Is it just me or did all the Bucks check into hotel 6 , the wife got her first deer , a fork n horn , we have been blessed and we get to eat venison , now we are in search for cascade Elk , Hopefully.
I'm having lamb again. Those are small animals. I get the front section with the neck, arm, ribs, and shoulder. Slow roasted, with veggies in the bottom of the pan. Then make a pan dripping gravy. More or less than same way that you cook any other big piece of meat. I could have also roasted at high heat, to medium rare, like a prime rib, roast beef, or Tri Tip. The best part, to me, is that the bones pull right out and I get to eat the bones. I get to pick the bones clean and suck all the marrow and juices.
Do you process the animal yourself? What do you do with the hides? Do you taxidermy the heads for trophy? Do you know how to tan the hides for leather?

When I lived in MN, the bow hunting season was around 2 months, and the rifle hunting season was 5-7 days right around the middle of bow hunting season. No bow hunter who wanted to live to see another day would be out there during the rifle season.
The deer were not so dumb though. There were a couple of game preserves near where we lived where rifle hunting was prohibited (but not bow hunting). The deer would all flock to the preserves (presumably) because they didn't get shot at there.
However, the first couple of weeks after rifle season was the time to go to the game preserve(s) with your bow. The only downside was that the trees were pretty thick, and it was almost impossible to get a clear shot. I bagged more birch trees than deer.
Happy Sunday Nor-Call and friends.
New scooter lift installed Friday. and I already have an issue. Took the truck to church today and found out the license plate light is staying on all the time. Can't have that. I only drive the truck once a week. Don't want anything draining the battery that long. Sure, it is only 5 LED's but still.
Also, the right rear wheel of the scooter is making a rubbing noise when riding straight or turning left, but not when turning right. So, I have sent the VA a message regarding both issues.
Put $20 worth of gas in it this morning. Truck ran fine to the gas station and then ran fine on the way from the gas station to the church, but when I started it up at church every warning light on the dash came on, and the 4x4 lights blinked like a turn signal. Truck ran fine, so I don't know what the problem is. I had this issue a year or two ago and it fixed itself. Maybe it will do it again this time?

some areas over here is thick and steep, I tend to stay in the flats that the trees and grounds are managed , mi ol knees can’t step like they use too ,
quick note , all the bucks were out today , 3x4, 4x4 and 1 4x5, I could only sit and drool , trust me my finger was itchy but I’m not that kind of hunter.
