SYNC compatible Stereos
Would like to get a Stereo to replace my Stock single CD AM/FM. I want to add Android Auto for Navigation and have been searching for a
a HD replacement ( Want HD FM/AM) and cannot find anything that works with SYNC. most will work with Steering wheel controls
but nothing I foudn works with SYNC and the overhead mic?
Comments?

Bummer, was hoping someone had changed stereo to give me an idea. Wife decided we neede to keep
truck (huge payment for new). Really wanted to upgrade to something with Android auto and works
with Steering controls. Plus easy to see screen.

Check at Crutchfield, https://www.crutchfield.com/S-Qb4xoif5mHN/ Buy a quality brand name head unit i.e.l Pioneer, Kenwood, Alpine etc. Stay away from the cheap Chinese stuff. They do make a Sync integration module, https://www.crutchfield.com/S-874g0V...SABEgKi6fD_BwE You don't really need Sync anyway, with a good head unit, you get all the modern wireless connectivity (Bluetooth hands free phone, wireless CarPlay etc.) Once I installed my Pioneer system, I didn't miss Sync at all. In addition to the interface, you'll need a trim panel, and if you want XM radio, you'll also need to buy an additional XM tuner. Let me know if you want more info on this.

Yeah Sync doesn't really net you anything useful. About the only thing you are going to lose will be steering wheel controls, and that's a maybe, sometimes they still work depending on the stereo.
The real issue would be if you had the digital screen with some vehicle settings built into it - THAT needs to be compatible.
The best place to talk to is going to be someplace like Crutchfield, OR if you have a GOOD local car stereo shop that's been around a while.

I have a kenwood with a mestro or something like that I got from crutchfield in my 13 and am able to use the steering wheel controls

The steering wheel controls will still work with the interface and a quality brand name head unit like I mentioned, in addition to that with the interface and a compatible head unit that's iDatalink ready, you can also display some vehicle. parameters by tapping into the OBD wiring. These interfaces can be a little tricky to hook up if you've never felt with them, if that's the case, I suggest taking it to a car stereo installer, to have it done.

Anyone know about Boss, they have several that will fit in my truck and with adapter use steering wheel control. Also I would use Android Auto for the maps (Waze).
Crutchfield has good deals. Trick is, installatio
for the gent asking year, its in my signature, but its a 2011 F350 XLT Crew Cab without the bass speaker.
Just AM FM with Single CD (which I dont use). The one in the picture on the original post.
