I recently found out that one of the machines at work had this differential installed on it at some point in the past. I found this when it failed, and our current gearbox repair vendors realized what it was. I was told it came out of a 1970s Ford pickup truck.
Can anyone identify it based on this picture. I need to source parts, or a completely rebuilt unit. Its amazing that a 50 year old differential can run this type of heavy equipment.
Welcome to FTE! A few more pics would help tremendously, when I first saw the square axle tubes I immediately thought military axle... what does this do on the machine?
This is the only other picture I have, but I can try to get more next week.
It is used to connect the motor to sprockets on both ends of an industrial mixer. Note that both ends have custom sprockets for the equipment. It seems like the OEM sourced these from same supplier Ford used at the time, however this is a discontinued machine and the supplier does not carry parts for it.
Looks like a M35 Military Rockwell 2.5 ton....sort of...but it has a straight drive (meaning the DS comes straight into the pinion). Instead of 90* drop drive, where the DS connects, then it is turned 90* buy the part called (?) that is ON TOP of the axle. https://www.boyceequipment.com/boyce-equipment-axles
