Rear diff grinding?
Hey y’all, I’ve just bought a 94 f150 302 4x4. I got her running mint now, only major trouble is when the tires spin or you take a tight turn the rear end or maybe even the trans starts grinding something wicked, and if you keep driving after turning or after spinning the tires a bit the grinding continues until the truck either shifts or until you let back off the gas and get back into it. I think I ruled out it being 1st gear in the trans because putting the shifter down into first so it doesn’t shift and only letting off for a second or two, the grinding will stop and then you can mash the throttle to your hearts content and she won’t make a noise. Checked the diff cover and the diff is NOT a limited slip. It’s an 8.8 Open diff 3.55… any ideas?
