Shifting issues
It’s a 1989 f250 351w a4od just bought it a few weeks ago. When it’s cold it drives just fine and once it’s warm and you shut it off and start it again it only has 1st gear, it will shift out into 2ed but immediately slips out under any power. I’m thinking it’s an electrical issue since it only does it when warm. I would pull codes but there is a constant 12v at the eec plug And it also had a blown fusible link that I fixed. the check engine light also doesn’t ever come when I try to flash codes since it has the constant 12v and it even won’t come on whenyou turn the key on. yes it has a good bulb. I pulled the computer and nothing looked burnt. Any help would be appreciated.

Another thing to try … put it into D not OD and see if it works… I had a 94 exploder that if I put it in OD it wouldn’t move at all … put it in D and it would work perfectly but when you wanted to get that OD , just had to pop it into OD position and it would work just fine until you stopped then you had to go back to D and start over …

No such thing as an a4od. There was an aod and there was an E4OD. I suspect you have an E4OD.
