Is it flashing at a steady on/off, or is it a random blinking?

What reader are you using? Maybe it can't read transmission codes.

it's random blinking. It almost seems like it's blinking in a sequence to tell me a code but I'm not sure. Also an update, ever sense that day my truck hasn't had any issues. No shift issues no o/d blink. I did notice that there was around 2 quarts of extra fluid, which I drained out. But it's been 2 quarts full for probably a few months so I don't see that being the cause of the problem
