manual transmission options on a 1989?

I'm looking at an 89' F150 with a 300-6 for dirt cheap (500$ with no rust) and was wondering what transmission options were suppose to be on this truck. Its a 4 speed but the shift *** doesn't show overdrive, did they still have a NON overdrive 4 speed avalible in 89?

I have a 89 F-150 with a 4spd tranny and doesn't have overdrive.

I'm pretty sure they stopped putting in the Borg Warner T-18 in the f150s in 87.

While wither its a T-18 or a NP-435 either is fine with me, I'm just glad its not a weak transmission. The 1st gear doesn't seem as low as the 1st gear in my bronco (NP435) but its still a "granny gear" as the truck start out in second pretty easy.
