swap transmissions

Will a 5 speed(4 speed with overdrive) transmission out of a 1988 f150 with a 300 ci engine,bolt right onto a 1989 f150 with a 302 ci engine

Yes, the bellhousing of a 302 and 300 and 351W are all the same. might need to check the clutch spline but I would guess that is the same too.

Both have to be either 2WD, or both 4WD, of course...

yes it will work cuz i just did the same operation last week to my 87 ford f-150...it had a 4 speed and i put a 5 speed from a 88 ford f-150 with a 300 6 and i got a 302 in my pikcup
