E40d transmission leak
I have a e40d transmission that seems to have an intermittent transmission leak from the bell housing. I don’t drive the truck much but I’ll start it every week and let it run and every now and then I’ll shut it off and a couple days later it will have a descent size puddle of transmission fluid under it and I’ll start it up and let it run shut it off and it won’t leak. Could it be possible that I have a crack in the torque converter that when it get shut off that crack is sitting in a certain spot that it will leak?

A crack is likely to leak all the time. It's more likely to be the torque converter hub seal. This is a known problem with the E4OD. There is an aftermarket seal made from Viton that is much better quality.

This is very common with any auto trans, that is left sitting for long periods of time, unfortunately. If you've never replaced a front trans seal before, you're in for loads of fun. You have to drop the trans, remove the converter and then you can replace the seal.
I just changed the C6 in my T-bird, and you can guess what I installed on the used trans, before I bolted her up in there.
