E40D Intermittent Leak
I have E40D out of 92 Ford E250. After a hard long drive the transmission leaks when the engine does to idel. As long as I am driving it is fine. When I stop it will leak a pint easily. The leask is coming from the drain plug in the bell housing. It almost seems that there is a pressure build up that is forcing fluid past the seal, when yo are driving the pressure is dissipated in the transmission. When the engine cools down the leak stops.
