hi guys ii wanna put an electric fule pump on my truck so i mounted it toward teh back of my truck bout 3 feet from the rear tank.....b4 i started this project my truck wasnt gettin gas and i just thought my fuel poump was in the wrong spot so it couldnt suck gas....so i was gonna mount it in back.....i cut the gas line and no gas comes out....at all nota dribble so theres my reason im gettin no gas...and i looked at the line it aint kinked anywhere.....and the gas tank swich is set on back....could tehre b something wrong with the swich er somthing......?????? thanks kevin gross
I can't tell you why your lines are dry, could be clogged with dirt at the tank, or in the line somewhere, or like you said, your tank switch may not be switching over, maybe a relay.
Why do you want an electric fuel pump anyways? I think that once you get your fuel flowing through your lines that you'll be fine with a mechanical pump, unless your going with some sort of fuel injection system.
i am running an electric fuel pump in my truck, and it needs to be mounted as close as posible to the tank. there might be no gas in the line because the pump will have a hard time bringin gas into a dry line, work with it a little and try to get some gas coming out. these pumps push fuel, and can't really pull much at all.
the reason you have no gas coming out of the tank is because the sending unit has a pickup tube that goes down into the fuel from the tom of the tank it does not gravity feed the fuel lines. the filter screen is at the end of the pickup tube inside the tank
