I am thinking about tackling a rebuild on my carb. Never did one before. Any hints before I start (I have visions of little springs flying all over my shop). I got the kit..I guess thats a start...Im no stranger to the screwdriver but for some reason this scares me...
Help please....
A Motorcraft 2 bb is the easiest carb to rebuild. Take note of what came from where, especially the little check ***** (BBs) some carbs have more than one size in them. I like to soak all the metal parts in strong carb soak (it will ruin the non metal parts) - but a good washing with carb cleaner will do too. Use compressed air to blow through all the little passages, making sure all are open.
If you get stuck, take all the parts to a shop. Any experienced mechanic can put a Ford 2bb together from a pile of parts.
