2003 F-250 CCSB 7.3L with 252K. I purchased this truck about 4 years ago and have since put Adrenaline HPOP (2 Yrs ago, LPOP (Last Month), OEM IPR when HPOP done, OEM ICP Yesterday. About 2 months ago i started getting the p1211 code. This only happens if i'm in OD and give it throttle to pass a car w/o towing or pull a hill while towing about 8500 and keep it O/D. If i do a full take off to test the pressures they are fine until i get to about 3rd gear and the icp drops to 1500-1700 psi and ipr climbs to about 85-95% causing the P1211. I tested the fuel pressure to day after filter. idle is 55 PSI and at full throttle it only drops to about 46 PSI. I believe the only other options are IPR, HPOP, or Injector O-rings. I have the IPR i took off 2 years ago and put new o-rings on it to save as a just in case IPR. I plan on swapping those out to see if that solves the issue. Forscan snap shot attached. What are the opinions of the forum?
that fuel pulse width is a bit high at 4.5 ms. The hpop is not going to keep up with that. Recommend running a cooler tune that does not exceed 3.5 to 3.8 ms if running stock injectors.
Have you changed the fuel filter anytime recently? How did it look? If it was really black it may lean you toward injector orings. Does it do this every tune? Any differences between tow/race/economy/stock?
As noted above, a little more testing will help drive you to a cause.
It is interesting that the ICP spikes after you get off the throttle and IPR DC drops.
That's a perfect example of a "Stinky Spike". This is caused by a fully closed IPR due to excessively high duty cycle (90% in this case from aftermarket tuning) and the time it takes for the PCM to respond once the demand goes away after "lifting" the go-fast pedal.
Too many of those and the vehicle will burn to the ground when a high pressure oil line bursts sending 3500+ PSI oil mist straight at the 1200+ degree turbine housing after a hard pull.
Pressure is not shown through Forscan. I stated it in initial post. The pressure spikes of icp when I let off throttle is I'm assuming because the valve is closing off which causes a momentary spike. Could be wrong.
Shell T6 15w-40 oil.
yes IPR replaced with OEM at time of HPOP
When I bought my truck, it did the same, all stock. Was both the orings and the hpop. Each improved it some. I know you've replaced them already but something isn't right now and suggest the tests I mentioned above.
Guess I should also mention that Truck starts great but recently when hot it turns over ALOT more before it will start.
still haven’t had a chance for the Stock tune graph. Work calls….
