How does it run without the tunes in it. I've had issues with gearhead tunes in my excursion. Weird Ipr spikes, inaccurate boost readings and the truck dying when coming to a stop. I've been running Swamps tune for a long time on the Hydra, and trying to use gearhead tunes after running my usual tunes for so long may have something to do with it, but not sure.
I have the Hydra with the stock PHP free tunes, and all of them work as described without funky issues.
After a year of messing with the different tunes, I settled on 80hp DD for all around performance and Perfect Shifts...
Yeah, I've tried like 3 tuners, Swamps works the best for now, the tunes were setup for when I had the gt38r on my truck, I've got a Kcturbo 3rd stg1, Mishimoto intercooler and a pusher intake, since those tunes were done, I need to get this thing dyno tuned. I may try a jellibuilt tune just to see if they can do anything. I wish Swamps was still around. I'm just glad I got the Oil temp issue licked.
Time to check for leaks. It's past time. Long crank time on hot starts and high IPR duty cycle under load.......I was going to ask if you had >2500 miles on T4 oil but you've cleared that up.
I'm leaning toward Fuel, you're not getting enough, my fuel pressure is 75-80. I never see lower than 68 under load or even towing my RV. 46 is low. Ifyou haven't dropped your tank, do it, and change the fuel pump.
Yes sir, Bosch fuel pump. My edge tuner reads fuel pressure and I've got liquid filled gauge plumbed into the bowl to read at filter pressure. When I started modding we pulled my tank and cleaned it, it was full of gunk and screens were deteriorated. So if you've never pulled your tank, may be an issue there. My buddies 7.3 in his 02 f250 fuel pressure is same as mine. He's the owner of cody's trans here in town. Ill post a picture of my fuel pressure when I get it back from the shop, getting the dryer on the a/c changed.
gotcha. I've never pulled tank. Purchased truck about 4 yrs ago. Screens probably do need to be cleaned and plastic foot replaced. Could just do a Sump. with In-line filter. w/New OEM Pump.
Not a sump fan myself. Cutting a hole in the tank just feels wrong. And if the truck is ever off road a sump is a risk.
Lots of threads on Hutch and Harpoon mods, read up and review your choices. In tank fuel pump has benefits too. When I did H&H I reused the rubber umbrella since it was intact and still felt supple. Besides, I'm lucky.
Aside from H&H mods, FRx with middle spring, a Carter pump from Vatozone and a pre-pump Baldwin filter my fuel system is stock. I'll see fuel pressure of 67ish running down the road and dipping to 64-65 WOT.

I am with cleatus12 on this one. Have the injector o-rings ever been replaced? How about the cups? Is your fuel getting contaminated with oil? How about the coolant?

This right here. Long crank times with hot, thinned out oil points towards internal HPOP leaks, most likely inside one or more worn out fuel injector assemblies. I lived that scenario with a set of rebuilt injectors that never worked right straight out of the box. Gave up and put a set of brand new Alliants in and never looked back. Start ups are quick and crisp, cold or hot.
Hopefully it’s not the HPOP since it’s an Adrenaline put in 2 yrs ago. I have no idea about the injectors. Purchased about 4 yrs ago. I’m thinking it’s either fuel pressure or injector o-rings. Will be checking for leaks but have no oil on driveway. Also will be ordering Ipr block off and gauge from riffraff to check HPOP. Been out of town last couple days but plan on getting Stock data log soon.
