Lent the spare to a buddy and it don't quite look right was curious how old it was date code is 3 digits not 4 and 2nd week of 2023 definitely isn't right 22nd week of 03 is definitely closer but still doesn't seem right
Whatever it is, it's too old to mess with. You would be better off with a newer wore out tire as a spare when you change out the tires than that old thing.
I can tell you the spare under my pickup is from 85 as that was the year truck it came off of when given to me, still has the blue on the white wall.
I can also tell you the spare tire under the Durango is from 02 as it has never been on the ground like the pickup spare. New tires installed last month.
My 07 Crown I believe also has the factory spare, have not taken cover off it, as the car has under 25,000 miles. I replaced the tires on the ground 3 months ago as they were 11 years old and had dry rot cracking in the tread.
Damn now that I think of it the wife's 2013 Subaru has the factory spare too but I know that has been used last year.
Other then the CV nothing is driven more than 20 miles away from home so driving on a old spare is not a big deal to me.
