If I were smart, I would invest in food companies. The whole world is not going to stop eating. Meat and agriculture at every level will not go away. Warren Buffett once said something about farmland being better than gold.
You can't eat gold. There's no cash flow from gold. You can't lease the gold to someone else. Gold can go up and down in value. Gold is worthless until you sell it.
With farmland, it could return a cash crop. It could be rented out to a farmer. It could be leveraged.
Now if I can only buy a farm. I could grow my own food.
Well, the weather guessers are claiming Wednesday will be the last day over 100 for awhile. It will be high nineties. It will still be hot, but high nineties is better than 106.
Lucky you. When it is this hot, I usually stay indoors, and let Walmart + deliver my food. If I have to go out, I will go in the morning. Of course, sometimes there is no option. Bible study on Tuesdays is at 6:30pm, and I still volunteer every Wednesday night for security at the church.
Heading to Monterey tomorrow to play cars for a few days. I used to think it was just the "Historics" at Laguna Seca, but have since learned about all the other happenings during Car Week.

What does that cost for delivery? I know people do it all the time. Is it worth it?
They charge $9.95 per delivery if you are not a Walmart + member. If you are a Walmart + member all deliveries are free. It costs $12.95 a month to be a Walmart + member. So, if you have two deliveries a month, you will save money. You have to order a minimum of $35 or they charge you a fee. Example, you order $26 worth of food, they add a $9 fee to make it equal $35. So you might as well order $35 worth of food, or higher. If you are on food stamps like me, then they only charge $7.01 a month to be a member. That way I only need to have one delivery a month to make it worth it. And as a member you also get discounts at Burger King. 25% off each order once every 24 hours. A free whopper once every 3 months (with a $1 or more purchase) and other benefits. There is also a Paramount + benefit if you choose to get that service, but I didn't want it.
