Am I just completely out of it? There are parts of popular culture which I completely do not get. The City celebrated The Grateful Dead this weekend. I was there. But I don't get it. I don't know any of their music. I didn't really enjoy the music. I just felt left out. Like the nerd in school. Who are all of these cool kids? How come I don't fit in? I also don't understand the entire "Matrix" storyline. How did they make so many of those films? Why is everyone so into them? I just don't get it. I tried to watch the movies. And I just couldn't understand what was going on.

I watched the first Matrix movie way back when but did not watch all the sequels. I am not now, nor was I ever a "Dead head" so I would not have gone to that celebration.

My SO is a Deadhead, and I'm just a sympathizer. She considered going to this, but the tickets were around 500 bucks.

No Dead Head here either. I have tickets to see Alice Cooper open for Judas Priest in a couple months. They're two of my favorite bands. Alice's show is also a macabre, which is entertaining in itself.

I didn't know even Alice Cooper and Judas Priest were still performing. They must be like 80 years old now.

There's a certain sadness attached to watching entertainers from decades past. A lot of these entertainers are only out there because they never got paid for their hit songs, don't know how to manage their finances, and sometimes are not just broke, but in debt. So sad to see them old, drunk, and messing up the performance. Or when they simply fall down on stage.

Alice is 77 and Halford is 73. Certainly past their prime. I've never heard either has struggled with money. A quick Google search says both are worth north of $40M. Neither ever relied on hitting high notes, so the drop off isn't too terrible.

Tiffany. now there is a name I have not heard in a long time.
Erik Estrada is doing car warranty commercials. I saw Joe Namath, and that guy who played Jimmie Walker (Dynomite!) also doing them some years back. guess they need the money.
