2018 Explorer 3.5 N/A no start

Just hit 90,000 miles. Maintenance up to date. It’s been a great vehicle. But today it up and died. Tow truck driver tried a jump box on it. When I hit the starter it would click click click like a dead battery. Got it home, put the charger on it, cranked over for a couple of seconds, no start, battery weak. My battery charger said “battery failure.” So with a new battery it cranked over for 4-5 seconds, no start. Even with the new battery it sounds weak cranking over. Like a lot slower than normal. So I put the charger on the new battery for a while, gave it a shot of ether in the throttle body, cranked it, no start. All I got is pulling a spark plug tomorrow and see if it has spark. If not then I’m at the end of my abilities. Any advice after that? Maybe check compression? Does this motor use a timing belt?
