I flipped passenger seat backrest forward, peeled back the carpet trim and unhooked and tied back the 3 wires going into the spy box and put it all back together. 3 minutes, tip of pocket knife to push tab release on two of them, the other tab release was easier to just finger. Easy peasy, no more big brother. 😉
By spybox, you mean the Telematics system? I thought the box was located behind the back seat? Disconnecting cause any other issues beside remote start and unlock?

Yup, telematics, and sorry...passenger side back seat rest....and no i haven't noticed anything yet, i think my compass may say i'm always going south but i didn't pay attention to it yet, just glanced at it once on way home heading west and it said S and then again when i got home where i was actually pointing south lol. My truck is base XL, fob based remote start wasn't an option on mine although i do see remote start is enabled in touch screen menu's, i'll wait for start-x or someone to make a module like i got for my XL maverick for the lock/unlock/lock one day but it's no biggie to just go out and fire it up and keypad the doors locked or just wait a bit for it to warm up then idle off as the thing sucks big gas enough, less is more, i decline all things at money exchange with dealer, the spy program sold under 'convenience' like everything else in life the past several decades and all protection and maintenance packages etc. So far no issue with fob lock/unlock entry/exit stuff. Keyed ignition a big seller for me, i hate rfid push button vehicles, dumbest thing ever. We're pampered enough in this convenience based world. Got my keyed ignition and simplest truck i think you can currently buy. And i love it.
Someone will likely figure out the newer xl remote start game through forscan or whatever also. Dealer had a third fob option where you add the security thingy i think but no thanks. I can live without it altogether, remind me of the 90's and 2000's haha.

So, with the box unplugged, the lock and unlock on your FOB still works, or keypad only? I don't give a hoot about the remote start, navigation or compass anyway. Small price to pay considering all the personal data Ford sells to the insurance companies, government, etc.

so far fob works, why? Has there been issues? What’s the fix? Do I need to do any fuse stuff? Those questions for anyone
Here’s the silicon sleeve I referred to…found cheap on Amazon…fits great and protects the phone from sliding and also wearing on edge of the trim…I can’t believe they don’t come with something like this from the factory, only seems logical…

Would you share the amazon item link, either here or in a DM please? Thank you

[What do you like about your truck bed cover compared to the backflip ?
Thanks
QUOTE=roadpilot;21683621]Picked my 2026 F350 Platinum 6.7L PSD up last week on 10/16/2026. Got about ~450 miles on her so far.
Other than filling the cabinets in the pole barn with things like oil, oil filters, fuel filters and Archoil 6500, I've also ordered the following:
RetraxPRO MX retractable tonneau cover
Bedrug XLT bedmat
Weathertech No-Drill mud flaps
Fumto F106N
Cravenspeed stubby antenna
This stuff is pretty much the exact same stuff I order for every new truck. I've tried a variety of tonneaus as well as Leer XQ and ARE Z-series toppers over the years, but I'm going back to the RetraxPRO MX again.
I still have to order some floor mats. I usually get the Husky x-Act Contours, but I'm thinking of going with the TuxMat floor mats this time around. We shall see.[/QUOTE]
i had some rigid pro hyperspot pods from another truck kicking around so ordered the cheap L brackets from amazon (one bolt mount up closer to windshield under the black plastic wiper trim) and hooked em up to upfitter 1, still has the stock xl halogens which are sad, even on highbeam they make great fogs in blowing snow lol, but those 11 degree hyperspots get way way down there for looking for ditch critters at speed on the highways and of course for training left lane campers and 'new drivers' that swing into the wrong lane or cut you off otherwise...will update when i do lasfit bulbs for the low/high beams this summer
1. low beams
2. high beams
3. high beams plus hyperspots
pics above don't show well as they are screen snapped from video, there's 3 humps along the road, low beam doesn't crest first one, high beams shows the next one, the ditch lights takes the 3rd one and it's ditches where i aimed them for wildlife at speed, will add another pic see if it shows that better, easier to see zooming on my phone, its so far you need the magnification to see how much is actually being lit up down there lol...one more pic below was an actual pic i took with everything on (not a screen snap from video), click on it and then zoom in, you nearly need bino's to see how far these puppies get lol, i just google mapped that spot and measured distance to that far sign end of 3rd hump and it's 610 m or 667 yards
i really like the hood scallops on this truck, combined with the 11 degree hyperspots there's not really annoying hood glare, i did have to nip about 1/4" off the rigid bolts to clear the hood and i didn't notice any vibe but will still be using the right height clear furniture bumpers stuck on hood under the light bolts (squished in to fit and put up pressure on bolt) to stabilize as i have had on the odd one for other trucks where one side vibed etc., also after i installed that hood/bug deflector i noticed the hood near windshield flutters in wind at speed so i knew 'hood mount' style brackets likely be a bad idea for 'vibe' with any pod light type install, the body mount brackets only ones to consider with that hood deflector imo and prolly not wanna use too heavy/big a pod light is my thought also as it's just a simple L bracket for that location so....ymmv
