I received an email yesterday from the nhtsa stating there is a recall for fuel pump issues with my truck. It said Ford is actively investigating the situation but a remedy is not yet available

Yes this was posted a few days ago, but in another thread. This one is actually for the gas engines and actually affects a number of different vehicles, not just Super Duties.

Given that it is a safety recall one would hope that they get hot on finding a resolution.

That pretty much covers it. Put it in neutral, hit the 4 way flashers, and try to get to the shoulder if there is one and you Loss of power steering at highway speeds won’t be a big issue.
