So my 55 had the original, and very tired, 223 in it when I got it 10 years ago. In '19, I found a 292 Y block from a 58 F100. After a rebuild, I did the swap and life's much better under the hood. The only issue I've had is with the temp sensor located on the back of the intake, drivers side. The threaded hole is too large for the 292 version so I picked up a 1/2" reducer which you can see in the pic. It's not OEM so I ordered a sensor adapter from Dennis Carpenter but can see it's not threaded on the outside for install on the intake, just the reduced diameter for the sensor. Does anyone have any ideas or experience with this? Many thanks in advance.
