sensor ID assistance

Can anyone tell me what the name of the sensor that screws into the intake where the arrow is pointing? Its an 89 F150 with an EFI 302. Thanks

That is the intake air temp sensor.

I don't think anything is supposed to go there. The air temp sensor is already in place.

There was a sensor there attached to a plug on the harness as it broke off when I tried to remove it.

Look on the sensor, get the ID number marked on it and post what it is.

Looking at this again I think you are right, the IAT is the sensor in the front intake port. That hole should be blind I think.. it doesn't go anywhere so if something was plugged in there is was by mistake.

The sensor or (thing) that was in the hole literally disintegrated upon removing it so I cannot make out a number. Also When I bought the truck there was no connector plugged into it that I could find which also was confounding. There is a hole thru and thru into the lower intake cavity. Would you suggest I plug it since the harness didn't appear to have a connector for it!

Every manifold I can look at would have a passage there to the center heat riser of the head if it were drilled open.

Yes, a brass NPT pipe plug of whatever size it is since your air temp sensor is in the front runner already.
