No need to worry about oil viscosity and warranties. In fact, you could be doing harm by not running 40W oil. Look in the owners manual for viscosity and as long as the temps fall in the range of the weight you use, warrantee can't say schiznt about it. 15w40 is listed as severe duty, and driving in 90* temps in the city qualifies as severe duty.

You make a valid point. I ran straight 40W in a modded Mustang for years.
I bought one from Autozone over the weekend. Same design as left.
In @FishOnOne 's original 2124 thread, IIRC someone did the math on the oval versus the round holes and there was more area with the oval holes for what was already mentioned, more flow.
