Question oil filter

this may sound like a stupid question, but when i took my old fither out of my flaty it had soild top and bottom and holes all around the outside. the new filter has holes top and bottom and soild sides. the new filter came from deinns carpender. which is right?

Sounds like the stock type filter that was in it - holes in the sides. I haven't seen one with holes in the top/bottom. You can pick them up at your favorite auto parts store around here. I get mine at Napa.

I don't remember the pn, but if they can't find it for your truck, tell them it's for a 49-53 car. Same engine, same oil filter but the books aren't that smart.

This is a filter with multiple applications including tractors and big equipment, even today.

Id get one from a known source Dale. Hastings, Motorcraft, Fram at least, still produce them.
