460 Idle issue
The truck is a 1995 F350, 460, automatic overdrive, crew cab 2WD.
Mileage is about 145,000.
The problem is a new problem. As far as the idle goes this truck has been "perfect" from the beginning when I bought it about 12 years ago, until about 6 months ago. It still idle as it should when I start it or when I come to a stop, but after it is warmed up and I put it into reverse the idle drops so low that about half the time the engine dies. If it recovers and doesn't die it still is idling low. This whole thing also occurs sometimes after I have been in reverse and then put it into drive, but not as often. The fuel injectors are original and have never been removed and cleaned. Plugs were new at about 115,000 miles and gapped correctly back then, but never since then in the past 30,000 miles. Air filter in clean. Runs good on the highway and gets 14 mpg if I stay at 70 or under and not pulling a trailer. I have no ide where to look for the cause of this issue, unless it could be fuel injectors. I really don't know how to deal with them. I have a huge amount of carburetor experience but nothing with the fuel enjectors.
Any ideas?
Thanks

Step two: Clean out the IAC (idle air controller) valve. There's a procedure how to do it without damaging the IAC electrical parts.
