average idle?

average idle?
It appears that my 97 F350 idles just slightly above 500 rpm's. However, I watched the needle tonight and every other couple seconds it would falter slightly, the needle would dip a hair. Is this normal? I certainly wouldn't say that I have an erratic idle, heck it's almost indiscernible. I was just curious though if it's something that can be expected or maybe it could become a major problem?

its supposed to idle at 650. how many miles are on the truck? the obs trucks usually wernt the smoothest idleing trucks i think part of that is the mechanical fuel pump on that part. but as your oil gets older its gonna idle a bit differnt and if you have alot of miles on the truck injector wear and orings and ipr condition can cause part of this too. but if its just a slight stumble i woulnt be too alarmed by it.
