my truck has to be started off in first gear but it's real slow so i try 2nd and with enough throttle it will start but it's usually rough. its got the 460 and zf5 transmission. also when driving at low rpms it will buck like crazy. is it the idle that can be adjusted or should i run fuel injector cleaner through it?
You've got something else going on, bad sensor or something. This isn't idle needing adjustment. Pull your codes, that will give a good idea where to start.
nothings been replaced i just deal with it. there is no engine lights or nothing. my friend has a pretty similar truck and it does the same thing. is it the injectors and can i just clean them with an additive or is it something else?
the whole issue is while the truck is in motion. the truck seems to like to buck when my foots off the throttle so i rev the engine a little to smooth it out. and say im at a stop sign and then i go to take off it'll want to stall really easy. i don't like using first gear to take off because it's really low gearing and unneccesary to me. so i tend to want to start off in second gear instead off first and it needs a little influence with the throttle so i can do so. not that stalling in second gear is the problem i just thought there is something simple that could be done to help relieve the bucking. maybe i'm just more used to my 6.9 which has a higher idle i just can't understand why it'd be that bad. when started it sounds like the idle is pretty low even to my dad. is it that the injectors could need cleaning or is that how it always is with this engine? sorry for being vague about it.
