I want to put a new 2 barrel carb on my 302. Ones at part store are around $300 or more. On Amazon, they go for a lot less, around $100. I have a manual fuel pump, and having trouble finding one that's not electric fuel pump. Does it matter or do I have to have one that's manual?
Are you talking about an electric choke? For fuel delivery to the carb, it does not matter whether the pump is electric or engine-driven as long as the pressure and volume specs are similar. I converted my 351W from its original engine-driven pump to electric. Same carb, no changes made to it.
If actually wondering about the choke, I think most aftermarket carbs have an electric choke because it’s more universal. You just need to add a power source if not already present. If you want to keep whatever choke system you have now, it’s usually possible to swap over the external bits.
For what it is worth, I own a slew of Ford 2bl engine trucks. I have experimented around with various carbs. The Chinese clone off Ebay actually work pretty damn good. They are throw-away carbs. Currently my bullnose 302 F100 has a Holly on it. My kit car MG with a 289 has the Chinese clones. Even my 71 Comet 302 has the Chinese clone. They work and are cheap.

Do you have a particular "brand" name that worked for you? Am partial to Amazon simply due to the fast shipping and easy returns. I've noticed literally dozens of mystery "brand" names for similar products that likely all came from the same factory.
I've heard enough bad things about the Amazon China Clones to scare me off them. Linkages incorrectly setup, ported vacuum slots in the wrong place (vacuum all the time), and venturis and jets are drilled to whatever diameter they feel like on that day. Sure, they'll run. But they probably run rich and leave some performance on the table whether its power or emissions. I'm a repeat customer of Guaranteed Carburetor in Florida. They're R&R service is reasonably priced and they seem to know what they're doing.
I have a boat load of carburetors.
The best suggestion I can make is try to find something that is made for your application, so the throttle linkage, vacuum ports, choke system all bolt up with out issues.
trying to get those items to bolt up and work can be a bigger project then swapping a carb or even rebuilding a carburetor.
