Sync 3 Woes

Long time lurker, first post.
I'm sorry if this specific scenario has been covered before, I just couldn't find it, and I'm frustrated.

2018 F250 XLT 4WD 6.7L w/ Sync 3, 75k miles

About 2 months ago, everything seemed to work fine. I was driving home, stopped to fuel up.
Once the tank is full, I walk into the gas station, and remote start the truck on the way in.
(Aftermarket remote start, StartX brand)
Get back to the truck and pop the hood which kills the engine bc of the hood sensor.

Ever since that moment, Sync will not connect to my phone with bluetooth or with apple car play.
I have rebooted it, master reset, unhook batteries for 30 min.
Every SINGLE time i get into the truck, i have to go back in to bluetooth settings and turn bluetooth off on the radio, even though i've deleted my phone several times.
I've tried to update Sync over wifi and with a thumb drive and it won't take.

It's almost like every time it starts up, Sync thinks it's that day 2 months ago, right before i pulled into the gas station. All the settings are back, nothing changes.
Hooked up Forscan this morning and got a current APIM DTC U0238 - Lost communication with digital audio control module D.
Used Forscan to force APIM reboot. The screen turned black and came back on, and nothing changed.
Just bc i was curious, i tried to remove the CD source in Sync with Forscan and it didnt take.

I guess my question is, am i missing something or is my APIM bricked?
If it's bricked, any suggestions on where to get a replacement?

Any input/advice would be appreciated, thanks in advance.

I posted my reply elsewhere just today. I had a similar problem where Car Play mostly would not work and found out by trial and error that the truck Bluetooth and the cabled phone were working against each other. I turned off the truck Bluetooth totally and Car Play works now.
