I take it I am looking for Android OS?

I cancelled my Alpine order and went to buy the teyes 7 inch unit and of course they are sold out now. Guess I will look into the mekeke dudu that someone else mentioned. Definitely not a good name ( for any product) lol

Yes, and you'll only find it on cheap Chinese junk radios, unfortunately, though some are better than others. I'd love to see one of better the Android phone makers get into the car stereo business, as an Android radio is just a phone in a different form factor. Alas, that's not going to happen.

Well I looked into the mekede dudu7 and they are not only pretty pricey but from what I can find their smallest screen is 9.5 in so that is not going to work either. Finding a good head unit is a pain in the ***

Oh awesome, and that is a cc3 so that is good. Tpayne do you happen to know the difference between the cc3L and the cc3LW? I tried googling it and nothing came up. I looked at the comparison chart on teyes website and I didn't see any mention of the cc3LW. . There is a pretty significant price difference so just want to make sure I get the right one. Also would you recommend getting any of the accessories like the external microphone , the Sony backup lens, or any adapters??

Cc3l has 4gb ram and had 4g and wifi. Meaning if you wanted to you could get a sim card with a data plan and install in it and not have to Hotspot off your phone.

Cc3lw only has 2gb ram and wifi only.

I would go with the Cc3l for the extra ram alone.

I did not use any of there accessories. I used a factory backup camera on a 08 f250 tailgate and hooked into it. Only one I would reccomend would be the external microphone if your planning on talking on it a lot. For reverse camera I would get one of the tailgate handles off Amazon with built in camera.

Looks like "L" has celluar and WIFI connectivity. "LW" appears to be WIFI only.

EDIT: Oops, missed the RAM and Core difference. In addition to double the RAM, it has twice as many cores. I'd go with the "L" for those upgrades as well.

Ok great, thank you, I really appreciate all the help. I can tear apart a diesel engine and put it back together but when it comes to tech stuff I am lost. I don't know why I couldn't find that information, when I clicked on one for the other all of these specs were exactly the same. I'm going to order the CC3L and the external microphone now. Thanks again

The actual picture changes when you click one or the other and it shows the difference on the picture.

Does the 32G mean it is going to be much slower than a 128g like yours? I wish they had a 128G in the 7-in but they do not

That number is the memory. How much stuff you can have saved on it. 32gb should be plenty of memory for a head unit. The ram is what will affect the speed the most.

RAM, also known as memory and processor GHz will determine the speed at which the apps and functions will produce the users desired results. Storage in GB is the amount of data you can store for use later. Things like apps, pictures, music, etc require storage measured in GBs in order to operate.

In some cases, data storage can be increased by a Micro SD card or similar, just like a phone or tablet. RAM or memory and the processor on the other hand are typically not upgradable when referring to hardware of this nature.

Look at it this way... The RAM is your hands working to accomplish a task at a given moment. The processor is your central nervous system, motor skills and eye sight in order layout the order in which the task needs to go to be successfully completed. The data storage is your brain, where all of.knowledge and steps are archived for future use.

I hope this helps.
