Anyone Delete the Cat?

Has anyone here deleted the Catalytic Converter, if so how did it work out for you? Better, worse, or check engine light ?

Depends, year of truck, what engine, etc.

my exhaust stinks, have purchased a high flow cat to hopefully get rid of stink.

if it’s not plugged and no other issues, leave it.

If OBD-II you'll get a check engine light.

Only reason to bother is if you're putting in long tube headers and need to build a custom Y pipe. You can install a high flow cat to keep it clean. Deleting cat just to delete cat is wasted effort. Much better off investing the effort into a cam swap or headers.

Sorry forgot to add what it is,,,,,,,,, its a 97 F-250 with a 5.8 ,,,, my cat is probably good but the forward flange is darn near rusted away so contemplating running without the cat after the flange rots away...
