Gutted Cat

Would someone or everyone fill me in on what a "Gutted Cat" is. I have a 04 6.0 and I need the cat for yearly inspection. Just put on a MBRP 4" TB. Love the MBRP btw. Would love to deleate and thought about straight piping, keeping the cat, and replacing at time of inspection but that may be more work & money than it's worth. Any thoughts???

Gutting the cat means knocking the honey comb precious metals out of the cat so all you end up with is the shell. I would suggest buying a cat delete pipe since a cat is very expensive to replace.

Take the cat off and use a steel rod and a hammer to gut the cat.

If you need the cat for inspections, just get a cat-delete pipe and put the cat back on when it's inspection time.
