Catalytic Converters

Just wondering if I cut my cat. conv. if it would hurt my engine?

do NOT gut your cat, BAD idea... i sugguest getting a test pipe, it is just a empty pipe that replaces your catalytic converter.. then you can always just bolt your original cat back in for inspection, because it will most likely (possibly could but...) not pass inspection.... and you wouldnt have to pay for a new cat

Plus the fun part, it's a federal offense to alter a Catalytic converter in any way. Only option is to replace it. Gotta have a cat. Now, if they don't inspect in your area, then, well, that's up to you.

It is better to leave the cat on. Without it your exhaust will be real "ripe" for those in traffic behind you. I am sure you have smelled those stinkpots out there... Not to mention the environmental effects

you will also get a check engine light.
