I plan to cut up a 6.0 head soon so that I can take a closer look at the casting. Where would it be best position to saw the head? I would saw at the marked points.
Any suggestions?
Not that I'm against destroying 6.0 parts or anything,,, but what do you hope to learn / what information to you expect to be revealed by sawing the head into pieces?
NDT (non destructive testing) has come a long way, and there are ways to determine voids in castings that don't involve a saw now days.

It is pure nosiness. I want to know what the casting looks like on the inside.
We don't have anyone here in Germany who can retrofit o-rings, so I always order o-ringed heads in the US and have the old heads here. (The owners of the trucks sometimes don't take them with them)
Sawing through a casting to check out the inside can be a very interesting thing to do. It can also be more difficult that it seems like it would be. I used a band saw and it started out very easy but it didn't take long for residual stresses in the casting to start closing up the gap produced by the blade and eventually pinching down and grabbing the blade.
If you have a machine shop or industrial steel supplier in your area, and have a good relationship with them, ask them to run it through their drop / horizontal band saw.
A few years ago I almost did this; a supporter of my channel was going to send me the different versions that were junked due to cracks.
At the time I was thinking of using a 12” cut-off abrasive blade, which would deal with the hardened seats. I’d do one cut, then evaluate where I want to make another cut.
