Hello everyone I'm new to this forum but, I have been reading it for quite a while now
I'm in the process of restoring my 86 f250 which has a 6.9 in it. I had to get a new head because my old one is shot. Today I got the head I had ordered and it has pits all around the valves on one cylinder of it, but none of the pits are where a gasket would be in contact. So the question is, is it okay to run the head I got or should I return it. I will post pictures later if anyone wants to see.
Thanks
That's what I figured I can't believe a head company would send someone a head like this. If anyone needs a head don't buy it from Odessa cylinder head.
Personally I think it should not have been rebuilt to.start with. It should have never left the plant regardless. Even if it passed all their tests how long would it run after u put a load on it and climes a hill and egts hit 900 or 1000 before one of the pits became a large crack?
